The rich get richer. Alabama’s 2028 recruiting class adds another blue chipper and building block for the trenches of the program. 2028 4-star offensive lineman Anthony Blalock Jr. committed to the Crimson Tide on Monday, as announced by Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Blalock is the No. 297-ranked player in the country, the No. 30-ranked player at his position, and the No. 8-ranked player in the state of Ohio for 2028.
Even though he’s an Ohio native, Blalock chose to commit to Alabama instead of schools like Ohio State and Texas Tech.
On his Rivals page, Alabama is the only SEC school listed among the teams Blalock visited. This shows that Blalock clearly held playing at Alabama and playing in the SEC in high regard.
The commit comes at a perfect time as well, as it’s just days after the Crimson Tide landed their future QB in 2028, 4-Star Kingston Preyear.

As just a sophomore in high school, Blalock is already 6’5 and 315 pounds. Which is absurd to think about. He’s going to grow so much more in the next two years as he approaches his arrival in Tuscaloosa.
On his highlight tape, Blalock looks like a man amongst children, pancaking these poor edge rushers and defensive tackles into the ground. Blalock even blocks against two defensive linemen in the same play at points in the film.
