Alabama and South Carolina are a little closer to landing Javon Kinlaw, a 6-foot-6, 300-pound defensive end in the Class of 2017.
The 19-year-old, who is one year removed from playing at Goose Creek (S.C.) High School, narrowed his list of potential schools to three on Wednesday night. The Crimson Tide and Gamecocks both made the list, along with the USC Trojans.
“I would like to thank every school that recruited me,” Kinlaw tweeted. “But this is FINAL.”
The massive lineman is playing at Jones Country Junior College this autumn. He de-committeed from South Carolina in mid-November, adding another twist to what’s been a somewhat dramatic recruiting saga.
Signing day is Feb. 1, which gives Kinlaw plenty more time to keep teams guessing.
