Shortly before Alabama and Arkansas kicked off in Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Crimson Tide landed one of the Southeast’s top quarterbacks.
Jake Fromm, a 2017 4-star prospect from Houston County, committed to Alabama during a meeting in Nick Saban’s office, his dad, Emerson, told the AJC’s SECCountry.com.
“There was no reason to wait to commit to the best team in football,” Emerson Fromm said.
Fromm is currently on an unofficial visit to Alabama. Over a week ago, the quarterback had Ole Miss and Alabama as his co-leaders.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder becomes commitment No. 8 in Alabama’s class of 2017. The Crimson Tide currently has a commitment in their 2016 class from dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts. Fromm is the only quarterback commit in the class of 2017.
