The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder is the No. 1 Connecticut prospect and No. 15 receiver in the Class of 2017, according to the 247Sports composite.
Black also listed Alabama in his top 10 on Dec. 6, seven months after Alabama sent an offer his way. Crimson Tide offensive line coach Mario Cristobal and receivers coach Billy Napier are primarily recruiting the elite wideout.
Black visited Tuscaloosa for a Junior Day event last year and came away impressed.
“I really like the campus,” Black said of Alabama, according to Scout.com’s A.P. Steadham. “The campus is beautiful. I think the academic support there, from what they told me, is really good. I really like the coaches, they showed me a lot of love down there. I just had a wonderful visit. I loved it.”
