If you were to put together a list of the top players from the SEC in 2016, there’s no doubt it would be littered with members of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Well, ESPN put together its top 25 list of SEC players from the past season on Friday morning. And sure enough, the list is filled with Tide standouts.
Jonathan Allen comes in at No. 1, one of four Alabama players in the list’s top seven. The Crimson Tide’s seven players in the top 25 rank as the most by one team, just ahead of LSU’s five.
Linebacker Reuben Foster (No. 4), quarterback Jalen Hurts (No. 6), and defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick (No. 7) are the other Alabama players listed in the top 10. The honors are deserving, as the Crimson Tide, who are undefeated and the top-ranked team in the nation, cruised to an SEC championship and the top berth in the College Football Playoff this season.
Besides Alabama, the rest of the top 10 is evenly distributed between the other SEC schools. Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss each have one player among the top 10.
