The Alabama baseball team dropped Game 3 to the Missouri Tigers Sunday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium and fell to 10-10 overall and 0-3 in SEC play this season. Missouri (19-1, 3-0) won its 19th consecutive game after losing its season opener.
In Sunday’s loss, Alabama battled back from an early 3-0 deficit to tie the game and after 4 innings the score was 5-5. But Missouri added 3 runs in the fifth. Connor Short and Colbie Vance both had 2 hits for the Crimson Tide.
Connor Brumfield went 5-for-5 with 2 runs scored, Robbie Glendinning had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and Kameron Misner drove in 2 runs as Missouri beat Alabama 7-4 in Game 2 on Saturday. Kyle Kaufman had 2 hits, including a home run for Alabama (10-9, 0-2)
In Game 1, Alabama starter Jake Walters (3-2) struggled with his control, walking 8 batters in 5.0 innings but he struck out 8 batters as well. Missouri right-hander Tanner Houck (3-1) was a little better, going 7.0 scoreless innings and allowing just 1 hit while striking out 9. Missouri scored 2 runs in the top of the first inning to take control early.
