Alabama basketball will be without 2 players for the rest of the season.
Tide forward Nick King and guard Brandon Austin will not see the court for the remainder of the season, coach Avery Johnson announced on Friday, according to multiple reports.
King, a Memphis transfer, sat out last season because of NCAA transfer rules. He has played in 7 games this season, averaging 12.7 minutes per game and 3.3 points per game. The decision was made following testing on his lungs, according to the Times Daily’s Alex Byington.
Austin has also come off the bench for the Crimson Tide in 2016-17, playing in 5 games. He participated in 30 games as a freshman and averaged 8.9 minutes per game. He will miss the rest of the season because of a non-surgical back injury, per Byington.
Alabama has a 15-10 (8-5 SEC) record and will play LSU on Saturday.
