Smith is rated as the state of Mississippi’s No. 2 prospect and the top center in the state, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Smith picked Alabama over LSU, UAB, Southern Methodist and Tulane.

Outside of Smith, Reese and Jones, Alabama is in the running for two highly-touted 5-star players.
Collin Sexton, a point guard from Pebblebrook (Ga.) High School), and John Petty (Huntsville, Ala.) have Alabama on their list of finalists.
Sexton is scheduled to announce his decision at 6 p.m. ET as a part of ESPNU’s basketball signing special.
Petty, a 6-foot-5 wingman, will also announce his decision on Thursday as well. Petty is the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama.
