Alabama compliance director and associate athletics director Jonathan Bowling has left Tuscaloosa to take the same role at Tennessee, according to John Brice of GoVols247.
Bowling is considered one of the best compliance directors in the country.
Alabama self-reported 19 secondary NCAA violations earlier this month. That would have been under Bowling’s direction (unless he left before this announcement). These were all relatively minor violations — including the five reported on the football team — and there is not expected to be a big violation.
Moving within the conference, Bowling will still have an impact on a SEC school in Knoxville.
