Alabama has pulled the trigger on one of the most impressive players this spring who happens to come from the Yellowhammer State.
Harold Joiner, a 4-star running back from Mountain Brook (Ala.) High School, picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide while on a visit in Tuscaloosa.
“It feels great,” Joiner said. “They have a great running game and they’re always ready to compete for a championship.”
A 6-foot-4, 218-pound prospect, Joiner was offered as an athlete. It’s not a knock on Joiner to not get offered as a running back, because he has the potential to be really good at multiple positions. He ran a 4.76 40-yard dash and had a 37.9-inch vertical just two weeks ago in Atlanta at the Nike Opening regional. While there, he showed the ability to make defenders miss in space and catch the ball out of the backfield.
Joiner recently told SEC Country that his top two schools are Auburn and LSU. He said that hasn’t changed, but Alabama will definitely be in his top five.
Alabama has a commitment from 4-star running back Dameon Pierce. Pierce hasn’t visited Tuscaloosa in several months, and it would not be a surprise to see him depart this class at some point in the future. The Crimson Tide are also targeting 5-star running back Zamir White, who is the team’s top target at the position. White is favoring Georgia and Clemson at this time, but his mother’s two favorite schools are Alabama and Georgia, for what it’s worth.
As a junior, Joiner rushed for 744 yards and 8 touchdowns with 9 catches for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns.
