The Nick Saban Signature Series Mercedes-Benz Sprinter does not roll off the tongue easily, but it will roll nine deep.
Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham, Ala., announced the $200,000 luxury van this week. Alabama coach Saban is a co-owner of the business, and gave his approval of the final product.
“There’s a standard that we want to do things to,” he told AL.com’s Dawn Kent Azok. “After looking at what they produced, I’m extremely pleased and proud and happy.”
Azok outlined the vehicle’s features:
The nine-passenger luxury van is decked out with three TVs, high-tech audio and video systems and a cooler. Other premium touches include hardwood flooring, high-grain leather and massage chairs.
The company produced just 15 vans, which will be available at Saban’s Birmingham dealership at some point during the football season.
Features also include conference-style seating, 40-inch LED TVs, a 48-inch LED TV at the rear, mobile DirecTV satellite system, power-massaging seats and LED accent lighting.
“No expense was spared,” said McSweeney Designs CEO Jeffrey Hunter, whose company took the reins on the project.
Saban will lead the Crimson Tide against Middle Tennessee State and throwback foe Rick Stockstill this Saturday (4 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
