TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — One day after news broke about potential NCAA recruiting violations, Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis had resigned from the program, according to a statement from Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban.
“Bo Davis has submitted his letter of resignation,” Saban said in the brief statement. “We appreciate all the contributions he made to the program and wish him and his family the very best in the future.”
Saban didn’t expand on why Davis resigned or how he plans to address the sudden opening on his staff.
News of Davis leaving the program has already sent shock waves through the recruiting world as the nation’s top defensive tackle said he is no longer considering Alabama.
The Tuscaloosa News’ Andrew Bone and Aaron Suttles were the first to report the news on Thursday.
