Alabama football: Central Michigan added to 2023 schedule
Alabama football drives the conversation here at the Rammer Jammer, SEC Country’s daily Alabama athletics recap, but we’ll cover news for every facet of the Crimson Tide. Every morning, we’ll be here for the latest on Alabama football, basketball and every other sport on campus.
Alabama adds Central Michigan
Alabama coach Nick Saban and athletic director Greg Byrne have been at work scheduling for the future. Saban recently added Notre Dame, Texas and USC to the schedule. Not every game can be that high profile, however. Alabama is still adding Group of 5 teams to round out its future nonconference schedules. The Crimson Tide will reportedly face Central Michigan on Sept. 2, 2023. That will most likely be the home opener for Alabama that season.

SEC basketball schedule announced
The football team wasn’t the only squad on campus to make scheduling moves. Alabama basketball had its SEC schedule revealed on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide will face Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss at home. Alabama will also face Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee on the road. Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt are Alabama’s home-and-home series.
Dreams come true
Alabama baseball had two players selected on Day 2 of the MLB draft. On Day 3, even more Alabama players were chosen. Infielders Cobie Vance, Jett Manning and Chandler Avant went in the 18th, 20th and 30th rounds, respectively. Vance will most likely choose to go pro as he tweeted a message out after being drafted by the Oakland Athletics.
