Clay Travis dropped an early score prediction for Alabama’s season opener against Louisville on Sept. 1.
On Tuesday, the Outkick the Coverage analyst discussed on WJOX 94.5 FM his opinions about early SEC betting lines that were released Monday. As part of his talk, he revealed his early score prediction for the Crimson Tide’s matchup against the Cardinals in Orlando, which features Alabama as a 28.5-point favorite.
“Bama will score a lot,” Travis said in the radio appearance. “But I just think that Louisville will score a couple of touchdowns there. I think it will be something like 49-21. Bama wins that game.”
Alabama fans would enjoy seeing Travis’ prediction come true. The game will take place at Camping World Stadium and mark the start of the Crimson Tide’s attempt to defend their national title after they claimed a thrilling victory against Georgia in the National Championship Game in January. The result produced the program’s fifth national title under coach Nick Saban.
Louisville, meanwhile, finished 8-5 last season with a loss to Mississippi State in the TaxSlayer Bowl. The Cardinals are moving on without their Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson, who went No. 32 to the Baltimore Ravens in the 2018 NFL Draft. Former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino has led Louisville to at least eight victories in each of the last four seasons.
