Injuries across the board
Alabama football is basically limping into spring practice. Linebacker Anfernee Jennings was expected to miss some of the spring as he still rehabs his sprained knee, but some unexpected names popped up on the injury report coach Nick Saban gave. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has a sprained thumb and will miss some time, but will return soon. Offensive tackle Matt Womack suffered a broke bone in his foot. That will open the door up for young tackle Jedrick Wills.
Alabama is dealing with multiple injuries, which is causing them to experiment in spring football. Guys are moving all over the field as Alabama has limited numbers.

Quarterback speculation frustrates Saban
The big question entering the spring season is who will win the quarterback job. Jalen Hurts and Tagovailoa are battling to be the starting quarterback after Tagovailoa’s performance against Georgia. Saban seems to be already frustrated with the focus on the quarterback battle and will not give a definite answer just yet.
Alabama saw a lot of assistant coaches leave to take jobs elsewhere. Saban had to fill multiple positions with new coaches, including both coordinator spots. He was able to promote from within at those places, but had to bring in new faces to for many of the position coaches. Staff turnover of that magnitude is something very few programs deal with. Still, Saban said he thought the hires Alabama made were “home runs.”
