Though he’s already projected as a possible first- or second-round NFL draft pick, Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson will miss today’s Senior Bowl with a thumb injury, according to SEC Country’s Mike Griffith.
Anderson injured the thumb in practice earlier this week, and despite insisting he would play this afternoon, he’ll be watching from the sidelines of the South team.
Though the injury is painful in a literal sense, it is not considered significant, and should not affect Anderson’s draft stock very much. Most sites have him rated at least as a second rounder, with an outside shot of moving up into the first.
Even with Anderson injured, Alabama fans can still watch a few now-former stars in action, as tight end O.J. Howard, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and long snapper Cole Mazza are all in uniform and expected to see action.
