Quay Walker has been committed to Alabama since June, but don't consider him a lock to sign with the Tide come February.

Alabama recruiting question of the day: What are chances LB commits make last-minute flips?

The early signing period has passed and Alabama is trying to obtain another No. 1 recruiting class come February. With recruiting ramping up, SEC Country’s Chris Kirschner will answer the Recruiting Question of the Day every day of the week. There’s definitely a good possibility that both Vernon Jackson and Quay Walker flip to other schools. Jackson is still talking to Texas, Texas A&M and TCU, while Walker is strongly considering Georgia and Tennessee.

Jackson will visit the Aggies this weekend and Walker will visit the Bulldogs. Alabama coaches visited both recruits on Tuesday night with running backs coach Burton Burns visiting Jackson and Nick Saban meeting with Walker.

I expect Walker will end up signing elsewhere. Jackson is still a toss-up to me. I can see him sticking with the Tide or flipping to Texas A&M after the trip this weekend.

Alabama on Tuesday offered 3-star Conway (S.C.) linebacker Jaylen Moody, who will take an official visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend. Moody is down to Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss. I expect Moody to sign with Alabama if the Tide push for him should they feel they will lose Jackson and/or Walker.

I also know that Alabama is trying to get 4-star linebacker Dax Hollifield to visit this weekend, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. The Tide are also trying to flip 4-star Tennessee linebacker commit JJ Peterson. Don’t expect that to happen, either, thanks to his close relationship with Jeremy Pruitt.

Moody is the only backup option at this point.
