TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson and punter JK Scott received weekly SEC honors for their performances in the Crimson Tide’s 10-0 win over LSU on Saturday.
Anderson, a starting outside linebacker, was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week. Scott, a junior, was tabbed as Co-Special Teams Player of the Week.
Anderson finished the game with 6 tackles, including two half sacks. Anderson added a tackle for loss to push his total for the season to 12.5, which leads the team.
Anderson and Alabama’s defense held LSU to just 1.2 yards per carry rushing, 3.8 yards per pass attempt and forced a 3-and-out on 9 of LSU’s 12 possessions.
Scott averaged 51.6 yards per kick on five punts while flipping the field. He had a long of 66 yards and landed two of his kicks inside the 20-yard line.
