TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama linebackers Ryan Anderson and Reuben Foster were both named semifinalists for the Butkus Award on Monday.
Anderson and Foster are two of 12 players listed as semifinalists for the award which is given to the nation’s top linebacker.
Anderson ranks second in the SEC with 11.5 tackles for loss and is 10th in sacks with 4.5 as part of his 29 total tackles. Anderson also has 3 forced fumbles and 5 quarterback hurries to his season totals.
Foster leads Alabama with 53 tackles. The main signal caller on the defense, Foster has racked up 4.5 tackles for loss and has 1.5 sacks. Foster has also added 4 quarterback hurries and 2 pass breakups from his middle linebacker spot.
Finalists for the Butkus Award will be announced Nov. 21, and winners will be announced on or before Dec. 6.
