TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — We’re only a few days away from SEC Media Days, and now we know which players will represent Alabama football along with Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban next week.
Alabama is scheduled to bring center Bradley Bozeman, defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick and wide receiver Calvin Ridley to Hoover, Ala. on Wednesday as a part of the four-day event that has become the unofficial start of the season.
Saban and players are scheduled to appear beginning at 10:05 ET/9:05 CT. Alabama has won the last three SEC championships and four of the last five league titles.
All three players make sense on multiple levels. Bozeman, a rising senior, will be one of the top leaders for Alabama’s offense and the entire team. He’s entering his second year as the Crimson Tide’s starting center.
Fitzpatrick and Ridley, both juniors, will likely be pushed for awards this season and are preseason All-American candidates. Both also will have the opportunity to leave school early for the NFL draft following this season.
Bozeman started all 15 games at center in 2016 and helped the Tide rank 16th nationally and first in the SEC in scoring offense (38.8 points per game), 12th nationally and second in the league in rushing offense (245.0 yards per game) and 34th in the nation in total offense (455.3 yards per game).
Last season, Fitzpatrick finished fourth on the team last season with 66 tackles. He added 5 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
Fitzpatrick’s team-high 6 interceptions was tied for seventh in the country.
Ridley had 72 catches for 769 yards and 7 touchdowns last season. Through two seasons, Ridley has 1,814 receiving yards and 14 touchdown receptions.
