DeMarcco Hellams commits to Alabama

Alabama is still on a roll. After its worst recruiting class since 2007, Alabama coach Nick Saban is preparing to bounce back in 2019 in a big way. The Crimson Tide currently have the No. 1 class according to 247Sports.com. Saban is not slowing down, either. Four-star safety DeMarcco Hellams committed to Alabama. Hellams is the No. 92 overall recruit in the country. He is the No. 4 safety in this year’s class.

Leading receivers

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley will leave a big hole for Alabama to fill in 2018. Luckily for Saban, a trio of freshman receivers earned experience last season. Henry Ruggs, DeVonta Smith and Jerry Jeudy showed flashes of greatness in their first year. Alabama also brings in Jaylen Waddle, a 4-star recruit who could be special. Alabama doesn’t have a clear No. 1 receiver, so who will lead the team in receptions?

All-time top 25

There is n0 doubt Alabama is considered one of the top programs in college football history. The Crimson Tide have five titles in the last nine years. In the all-time Associated Press poll, Alabama ranks as the No. 2 team behind Oklahoma. That gap has closed in the years since Saban arrived.
