Alabama injury update: Kenyan Drake, Ryan Kelly get good news
Two prominent offensive players — running back Kenyan Drake (thigh) and center Ryan Kelly (concussion) — missed significant time during Alabama’s win over Texas A&M on Saturday.
Both players got good news after the game.
“Kenyan Drake will practice today,” coach Nick Saban said during his Monday press conference. “Ryan Kelly is under the concussion protocol. When he’s normal — which is very close — we’ll allow him to resume activity. That’s not gonna be today unless something changes between now and practice.”
While Drake eventually returned against A&M and was expected back this week, Kelly’s playing status was certainly in question after it was learned he suffered a concussion.
But Saban appeared confident that Kelly would return soon. That would be a huge boon for the offensive line, which struggled without him against the Aggies.
