Alabama climbs to No. 3 in the AP Top 25
One week after ranking Alabama No. 7 — three spots behind the Tide’s eventual ranking in the first College Football Playoff list — the Associated Press gave ‘Bama a big bump on Sunday.
Nick Saban’s team is now No. 3 in the AP Top 25, which will take a backseat to the CFP rankings for the remainder of the season.
The change of heart came after ‘Bama put on a defensive clinic in its 30-16 victory over LSU on Saturday night. Running back Derrick Henry also leapt back into the Heisman race with a 210-yard, three-touchdown performance.
Sunday’s Top 25 featured Alabama as the SEC’s highest-ranked team, followed by LSU (No. 9), Florida (No. 11) and Mississippi State (No. 20).
