Basketball commitment classes usually aren’t too large, that’s why it’s a big deal when two players pledge in one day.
That’s exactly what happened to Alabama on Thursday when it received its second in-state hoops commitment in Alex Reese after landing 3-star shooting guard Herb Jones earlier in the day.
Reese is a 4-star power forward out of Pelham High School (Pelham, Ala.)

Reese stands 6-foot-9 and weighs in at 225 pounds and is the second commit of Alabama’s 2017 recruiting class. He is ranked as the No. 19 power forward in the country and the No. 3 player in the state of Alabama. He choose the Crimson Tide over the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Schools always put a premium on owning their state in recruiting, and Alabama is certainly off on the right foot.
