Evan Neal, an offensive lineman from Okeechobee (Fla.) High School, committed Friday to play for Alabama and coach Nick Saban.
The news was first reported by Scout.com. That Alabama added an elite recruit from Florida might not seem like a big deal, but Neal is 6-foot-6 and 353 pounds. Oh, and he is currently a freshman in high school. The Class of 2019 lineman received an offer from the Crimson Tide on Thursday, and while he had nearly three years to make a decision, he needed less than 24 hours.
“He said as long as Coach (Nick) Saban is there, I want to commit to the University of Alabama,” Chris Branham, Neal’s coach, told 247Sports.
Obviously 2019 is a long way and a lot can happen, but Neal could be a huge addition, literally and figuratively, for the Crimson Tide.
