Alabama might have landed its place kicker of the future when talented kicker Brandon Ruiz announced he had committed to the Crimson Tide on Friday.

The Gilbert, Ariz., native was one of the most sought after kickers in the Class of 2017. He had nine reported offers, including a scholarship offer from SEC rival Tennessee. Ruiz also chose the Crimson Tide over local programs Arizona and Arizona State.
There’s no doubt Ruiz has a heck of a leg. He even booted a 76-yard field goal during practice in April.

Ruiz could be a replacement option for senior Adam Griffith as a freshman next season. Griffith converted 23 of his 32 field goal attempts last season and also was a perfect 62-of-62 on point after attempts as a junior last season. Alabama also has junior Gunnar Raborn on the roster as a backup.
