Alabama’s 2016 defense keeps getting scarier.
Thursday evening, linebacker Ryan Anderson became the third Crimson Tide junior to announce he will return for his senior season, joining fellow linebacker Tim Williams and safety Eddie Jackson.
“Coming back to school another year,” he tweeted. “Still a lot of stuff I want to accomplish.”
Anderson tallied a career-high six sacks this season, one of which forcing a crucial fumble by Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs to keep Alabama’s Playoff hopes alive in October.
There are still several prominent underclassmen who have yet to announce their decisions, including defensive linemen A’Shawn Robinson and Jonathan Allen, linebacker Reuben Foster and tight end O.J. Howard. Heisman Trophy winning running back Derrick Henry told ESPN Thursday that he will not be among the juniors returning for the Crimson Tide, as he will forgo his senior season in favor of the NFL Draft.
Alabama will hold a press conference Friday at 3 p.m. ET to officially announce players’ NFL draft plans.
