Alabama is now down to 17 commitments in this year’s recruiting class after a long-time recruit backed off his pledge.
Joshua Perry, a three-star safety from Amite (La.) High School, has decided to de-commit after being committed to Alabama since May.
“I would like to thank God for every opportunity that he’s given me in the 18 years of my life. I also want to thank the entire staff of the University of Alabama,” Perry tweeted. “I’ve talked it over with my parents and decided that I will be de-committing from UA, and I am eagerly waiting for what God has in store for me to come.”
Perry’s de-commitment leaves the Crimson Tide with no safety in this year’s class. Though, athlete Shawn Jennings, is likely to play there at the next level.
