Alabama LT Jonah Williams exits with injury, goes to medical tent

A key member of Alabama’s offense exited with an injury during the third quarter of the National Championship Game.

Left tackle Jonah Williams went down on the field, got helped off and then went to the medical tent on the Crimson Tide’s sideline, according to SEC Country’s Marq Burnett. He was replaced by freshman Alex Leatherwood on Alabama’s next drive on Monday night.

Williams was a first-team All-SEC selection this season, so it would be a hit to the Crimson Tide’s offense if he can’t return.

However, Alabama performed fine on its first drive without Williams. The Crimson Tide scored a touchdown, cutting Georgia’s lead to 13-7, on freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s second drive since replacing Jalen Hurts to begin the second half.

More information on Williams’ injury will be added as it becomes available.
