Alabama made some interesting College Football Playoff history on Sunday.
As relayed by ESPN’s Chris Low, the Crimson Tide became to first team to reach the College Football Playoff without multiple victories against teams in the top 20 of the final ranking. As Low points out, Ohio State had three such victories this year, and USC had two.

Likely, debate will continue about whether Alabama or Ohio State deserved the fourth and final spot in the College Football Playoff. But the Crimson Tide didn’t have an awful loss to Iowa, and many considered Alabama to be one of the best — if not the best — team for much of the season.
