Still trying to get into the national championship? It’s going to cost you.
Alabama will take on Clemson for the national title at 8 p.m. ET on Monday from Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium. According to Vivid Seats, the cheapest price of admission to enter the gates is currently set at $1,617. It’s also located in the upper level.
For comparison, ticket prices for the Tide’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl matchup against Washington were sitting at $484 about a little over a week before kickoff.
That’s a hefty price to pay, but the increase in asking price is understandable.
Monday’s contest will be a rematch of last year’s national championship game, which Alabama won in a 45-40 thriller.
The Crimson Tide opened as a 7-point favorite over Clemson, but that line has since moved to 6.5. Despite what Vegas thinks, Alabama players expressed on Saturday that they felt like underdogs going into the title game.
Add in the fact that the Tigers shut out Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl and Alabama introduced a new offensive coordinator a week before the championship, and this is setting up to be a good one.
$1,617-good? Time will tell.
