In our story right after Jake Fromm de-committed from Alabama and flipped to Georgia, we told you Jake Bentley was one quarterback to watch, but he did not have an offer from the Crimson Tide just yet.
That changed Tuesday.
Bentley, a four-star prospect from Opelika (Ala.) High School, told SEC Country that Alabama offered him while he was on campus Tuesday.
Bentley’s father, Bobby, is the running backs coach at South Carolina, but it’s not a given that his son will follow his father at whichever school he’s at. When Bobby was a coach at Auburn, Jake became close with the staff and began to familiarize himself with the Tigers’ program.
Recently, Bentley has named South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, Stanford and Miami as some of his top schools. Where Alabama now stands with the quarterback is unknown.
Bentley is rated as the nation’s No. 6 pro-style prospect.
