Alabama’s first underclassman domino to fall is Tim Williams, and Crimson Tide fans will love his decision.
“Coming back to play with my brothers,” he tweeted on Wednesday. “We can win this thing again baby!! RTR.”
Williams, who Pro Football Focus named the nation’s top-rated pass rusher, likely would’ve been picked on the first or second day of this spring’s NFL draft. But he met with coach Nick Saban on Wednesday to evaluate his future, and decided to pursue a second straight national title instead.
The junior had made no statistical impact in Monday’s 45-40 win over Clemson, finishing with 10.5 sacks on the season. That number was second-highest on the team behind Jonathan Allen, who is also making his NFL decision in the coming days.
Other underclassmen who have yet to make the call include running back Derrick Henry, linebacker Reuben Foster, safety Eddie Jackson, tight end O.J. Howard and defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson.
