Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster admitted on Tuesday that he hit Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly in their Week 3 matchup so hard that he himself suffered a black eye.
“I tried to follow through,” Foster told 247Sports. “But when it was said and done, I had a black eye at the end of that. … He was hard to hit.”
Foster was then asked about the uniqueness of the injury, and how a player suffers a helmet through his helmet.
“I don’t know,” Foster said with a chuckle, “but he’s a tough guy.”
