With the large amount of talent Alabama puts on the field every year, it’s sometimes difficult to distinguish which player is the fastest, smartest or the hardest hitter.
AL.com’s Michael Casagrande tackled the task with help from members of the Crimson Tide’s 2016 National Championship roster.
Here was the consensus from Crimson Tide players interviewed by Casagrande:
Biggest hitter: Junior Reuben Foster (LB)
Foster was second on the team with 73 total tackles and eight of those for loss. He will be back next season to further validate the title of biggest hitter.
Fastest player: Senior Bradley Sylve (CB)
Sylve had 16 tackles and one pass breakup for the Crimson Tide last season. Sylve once claimed to be faster than former star Alabama receiver Amari Cooper.
Smartest player: Senior Ryan Kelly (C)
Kelly played an integral role as Alabama’s starting center. He has to be in tune with the quarterback and make adjustments, so it helps if he has wide knowledge of the offense. Kelly is projected to be a first or second round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, according to NFLDraftScout.com.
