Chalk this one up as both weird and cool at the same time. Mac Jones is committed to play quarterback for Alabama. So much so, that he’s willing to paste his face on the body of a former Crimson Tide quarterback.
Which one did he choose? Well, none other than national championship winner Greg McElroy.
On Wednesday, Jones posted a photo to his Twitter account that probably looked awfully familiar to Crimson Tide faithful, with just one little twist to it– his face.
Here’s a look at the unedited version of the photo:
Alabama won the 2011 Capital One Bowl 49-7 over Michigan State behind an efficient performance from McElroy, who finished that game 13-of-17 for 220 yards passing and a touchdown. It was the final farewell for McElroy, who won the BCS Championship with the Crimson Tide the season prior, in an Alabama uniform.
As for Jones, he’s one of two quarterbacks committed to play for the Crimson Tide in the 2017 recruiting class. The four-star prospect ranks as the No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’ll have to compete against fellow Alabama commit Tua Tagovailoa, who rates as the No. 1 dual-threat QB in the country.
In case you were wondering, Jones, who is a former Kentucky commitment, appears to have worn No. 10 at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla.
