Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has been nearly everybody’s Heisman Trophy front-runner through the first few weeks of the season. But there are a lot of weeks of football left and things can change before the end of the year.
Tom Fornelli of CBSSports.com listed his five players, besides Jackson, on Friday who have the best chance of bringing home the Heisman. Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts is ranked fourth, the only SEC representation on his list.
Hurts has passed for 563 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 197 yards and two scores, during the Crimson Tide’s 3-0 start.

Fornelli writes that while Hurts is the signal-caller for the nation’s No. 1 team, being a true freshman may hurt his cause for Heisman candidacy.
