So much for bulletin board material.
What could’ve been an interesting feud between Michigan State linebackers and Alabama running backs fizzled out Sunday afternoon in Dallas, where both sides were too friendly to incite bad blood.
The “rift” sprang up last week, when Spartans linebacker Jon Reschke spoke with 247Sports.com‘s Mike Wilson.
“We are going to have to hit him harder – harder than we’ve ever hit anyone else,” Reschke said of Henry. “It’s a challenge we are accepting.”
Henry responded on Sunday.
“That’s the attitude you have to have on defense,” he told AL.com‘s Michael Casagrande. “You have to want to hit. You have to want to be physical. We just have to get ready for them in practice all week.”
Backup running back Kenyan Drake was not as concerned with pleasantries.
“You have to show us better than you can tell us,” he said. “We’ll see on the field.”
