Altee Tenpenny would have turned 21 on Sunday if not for an October car accident that took his life.
The former Alabama running back’s death led to several social media memorials from ex-teammates earlier this year, including posts by Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry.
Sunday, Henry made a point to reach out to Tenpenny again.
The pair played together from 2013-2014 before Tenpenny transferred to UNLV.
“No matter what I was going through I knew I could always come talk to you,” Henry wrote in October. “& you could make [sic] feel better & you knew I was always there for you.”
