Alabama remains at No. 2 in AP Poll after winning SEC championship
Not even a convincing 29-15 victory against Florida in Saturday’s SEC championship game was enough to vault Alabama ahead of Clemson in the latest AP Poll.
The Crimson Tide came in ranked at No. 2 for the third straight week Sunday, sitting 45 points behind ACC champion Clemson. Michigan State (No. 3), Oklahoma (No. 4) and Stanford (No. 5) rounded out the top five. Ole Miss, Florida and LSU were the other three SEC teams to crack the Top 25.
Alabama will now turn its attention to the College Football Playoff committee, which releases its semifinal matchups at 12:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. The Tide are almost certainly among those to make the cut, but who they would have to face is still uncertain.
