HOOVER, Ala. — With SEC media days beginning Monday, it’s time to take a closer look at Alabama’s latest media guide.
But the media guides also gives us a chance to see which players worked hard to add or drop weight this offseason.
The two biggest movers in terms of weight were outside linebacker Tim Williams and quarterback Blake Barnett. Williams, who finished third in the SEC with 10.5 sacks last season, added a whopping 15 pounds according to the media guide. Williams is expected to terrorize opposing quarterbacks on every down this season.
Barnett, a redshirt freshman, put on 11 pounds according to the latest numbers. Barnett, who stands 6-foot-5, has been trying to add weight since he stepped on campus. He’ll compete with Cooper Bateman, David Cornwell and Jalen Hurts for the starting quarterback job this spring.
Tight end O.J. Howard added eight pounds while linebackers Shawn Jennings and Joshua McMillon each dropped eight pounds. McMillon made the move from outside to inside linebacker this spring.
There didn’t appear to be any number changes coming out of the spring.
