Eddie Jackson delivered an uplifting note to his fans Monday night.
The Alabama safety, who sustained a season-ending broken leg injury in a victory over Texas A&M last Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium, posted a thoughtful Instagram message and thanked a number of people for their support.
Jackson sustained the fracture on a punt return late in the fourth quarter when he was twisted up on the play. Alabama’s training staff helped Jackson off the field, and he eventually was carted to the locker room.
I just want to say thank you to everyone for checking on me and all the prayers all I know is how to bounce back, as a team we still have unfinished business and I'm not going anywhere until it's over, I want to say thank you to coach Saban and the coaching staff and also the University Of Alabama for the best four years of my life I learned and grew a lot now it's time to help coach my boys up and finish this thing…God Is In Control???RTR!!
Jackson was dynamic for the Crimson Tide this season. He had 3 touchdowns — 2 on punt returns and 1 on an interception return — and his presence will be missed as Alabama attempts to repeat as national champions.
It’s great to see Jackson reach out to so many people. On Monday, Alabama coach Nick Saban gave a positive report on Jackson’s long-term health. Here’s hoping Jackson’s recovery is quick and that he can enjoy a strong NFL career.
