While Alabama’s offense has struggled to find its identity this season, there is a trio of former Crimson Tide stars making its mark in a specific NFL category: yards after catch (YAC).
New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram (186 yards), Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper (175) and Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones (170) hold down the top three spots through three games, according to Pro Football Focus (via Knox Bardeen).
According to ESPN‘s numbers, Jones finished No. 8 in YAC last season with 553. This year, he’s helped Atlanta to a 3-0 record with 34 receptions — a league record through three games — 440 yards and four touchdowns.
Cooper has been tearing it up, too. Sunday, he became the first rookie receiver in seven years to break the 100-yard mark twice in his first three games.
