Breathe easier, everyone. The axe has returned to Alabama’s sideline.
Crimson Tide wide receiver ArDarius Stewart was seen carrying the familiar axe back out as the Crimson Tide prepared to continue their rout of Kent State in the second half. Earlier in the day, Stewart was pictured holding a sledgehammer, which seems like a much safer choice.

ArDarius Stewart comes out of the locker room at halftime with the "assassins" axe draped over his right shoulder. So much for safety.

The axe has become Alabama’s version of the rally monkey. OK, the Crimson Tide don’t need to “rally” today. But the axe brought good fortune in a victory over Ole Miss last Saturday, and it can’t hurt to keep a tool like that around. Perhaps it’s packed with good vibes.
Stay safe, guys.
