TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, quarterback Jalen Hurts and punter JK Scott received weekly SEC honors for their performances in Alabama’s 49-30 win over Arkansas.
Fitzpatrick was named the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Week, Hurts was tabbed as the SEC’s co-Freshman of the Week and Scott was named the special teams player of the week.
Fitzpatrick tied the Alabama school record with 3 interceptions in a single game. He returned one of his takeaways for a school record 100 yards and a touchdown. Fitzpatrick’s latest pick-six tied the school record for interception returns for a touchdown with three.
Hurts accounted for 273 yards of total offense and 4 total touchdowns. Hurts threw for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 76.5 percent of his passes (13-of-17). Hurts averaged 14.9 yards per pass and wasn’t sacked on the night. He posted a career-best 228.54 passer rating. Hurts now has 5 rushing and 9 passing touchdowns on the season.
Scott punted four times for an average of 51.5 yards per punt. Scott dropped two of his four punts inside the 20-yard line. He had a long kick of 63 yards. Two of his kicks traveled beyond 50 yards.
