While Alabama capped off another dominant season with its 16th national championship, defensive back Tony Brown ended his sophomore campaign on a very sour note.
The Crimson Tide suspended Brown for its College Football Playoff matchups against both Michigan State and Clemson after he was sent home during the team’s Cotton Bowl preparations for violating team rules. The move reportedly stemmed from Brown starting a fight in practice.
At Tuesday’s Senior Bowl practice in Mobile, Alabama coach Nick Saban told reporters that Brown remains with the team, but added that the defender is still “facing some future suspensions,” according to Marq Burnett of the Anniston Star.
Brown, a former five-star prospect, recorded 16 tackles and two pass breakups in 13 games this past season.
