TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama football team’s pro day, when players eligible for the 2018 NFL Draft work out for scouts on campus, will be held March 7.
It’ll be held right after the NFL combine, which begins Tuesday and runs through March 5 in Indianapolis.
Alabama led all schools with 14 invitees to the combine: CB Anthony Averett, DB Tony Brown, LB Rashaan Evans, DB Minkah Fitzpatrick, WR Robert Foster, DT Josh Frazier, LB Shaun Dion Hamilton, DE Da’Shawn Hand, S Ronnie Harrison, DT Da’Ron Payne, WR Calvin Ridley, RB Bo Scarbrough, P J.K. Scott, CB Levi Wallace.
A notable absence was Bradley Bozeman. The quick turnaround could give the center a chance to impress NFL personnel while the combine is still fresh in their minds.
Pro day events include weight room weigh-ins, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump as well as the 40-yard dash, 60-yard shuttle plus position workouts.
Players will sometimes decline to participate in specific events especially if they’re pleased with their performance at the combine. Others will also decline to do some at the combine in favor of having the more familiar surroundings of their own campus.
ESPN announced it will report from all 14 SEC pro days, but live from both Alabama and Georgia on March 21. The Crimson Tide broadcast will feature host Peter Burns, analysts Marcus Spears, Tom Luginbill and Greg McElroy (on site), and draft specialist Matt Bowen.
