Marq Burnett: How I voted in AP Top 25 following Week 13
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Here is my AP Top 25 poll coming off Week 13 of the college football season.
First, a few notes:
- As always, I tried to start with a clean slate for the most part so there was some movement for some teams. I used the poll from the previous week as a measuring stick, but didn’t let it control where I put teams.
- Alabama remained at No. 1. The Crimson Tide are the only undefeated team from a Power 5 conference. Ohio State, Clemson, Washington and Michigan round out my top 5.
- What a tough break for Michigan.
- The College Football Playoff committee should have a clear picture for the final four now as long as teams take care of business in their conference title games. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Washington should make the playoff, barring any losses. That still brings up an interesting question about Penn State. Does Penn State deserve to be in the playoff if they win the Big 10 championship on top of having a head-to-head win over Ohio State? Or Washington? Or Clemson?
- It’s crazy that the regular season is already over. It’s conference championship time, and bowl season after that. Enjoy these weeks while we have them.
