A’Shawn Robinson racked up a huge bill at a Hollywood nightclub that was too rich for his plastic.
The former Alabama defensive lineman, who’s entering his second season with the Detroit Lions, was one of two NFL players named in a lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports, which reported the story over the weekend.
Robinson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers OL Caleb Benenoch are being sued by a man for not paying him after he said he covered their bill at a Hollywood nightclub in March.
The players, both drafted in 2016, tried to use their credit cards to pay, but they were both declined. The man who filed the suit, Richard Harrington, said he paid the $9,332 bill at Hyde nightclub on Sunset Strip.
He said Robinson and Benenoch promised to repay him, but he said he’s received only $2,000 each from the two and is still owed $5,332, and that the players refuse to pay.
Robinson was a second-round draft pick by the Lions and signed a 4-year, $5.2 million contract. Robinson played in all 16 games in his rookie season, recording 30 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 7 pass defenses.
