In one of the most surprising moves in the 2017 recruiting class, 5-star LB Dylan Moses has ended his recruitment.
Moses, the nation’s No. 1 outside linebacker from IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), announced on Twitter that he has committed to the University of Alabama. Moses was on campus this weekend for his official visit.
The Under Armour All-American was expected to announce his commitment on Jan. 1, but the visit to Alabama completely changed his mind.
Moses, who was a strong LSU lean for almost all of his recruitment, was very close with Les Miles. The decision by the Tigers to fire Miles looks like it was the biggest factor for why he decided to go a different route.
What’s even more shocking than this commitment out of nowhere is the fact that Moses says his recruitment is over and he will not take any more visits.
Alabama now has commitments from Moses and 4-star linebacker prospects Markail Benton, VanDarius Cowan and Gary Johnson in the Class of 2017.
The Tide now have three of the top five players in the country committed in Moses, 5-star RB Najee Harris and 5-star OT Alex Leatherwood.
